Company: Kaplan University Location: Ft Lauderdale, FL Status: Full time Salary: Open Close Date: November 30, 2008 Job Description: Contact: Linda Buggy, Senior Associate Position Summary: The successful candidate will assume full responsibility for leading and managing the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the curricula and instructional materials offered throughout the Kaplan’s online system. Key Responsibilities: · Promote the application of accepted pedagogical standards across all programs · Coordinate the improvement of program delivery and student outcomes through integration of technology in the class-room, better use of texts and materials, and other enhancements. · Manage the development and effective implementation of curriculum and instructional materials. · Lead the effort to articulate, develop and integrate program standards across the organization. · Evaluate and develop branded plans for acquired curriculum products. · Manage the development and creation of a system of fully defined templates for curriculum development in various delivery formats. · Lead Deans, Program Directors and Managers in continuously reviewing and revising existing programs and instructional materials to involve faculty representatives. · Advise and coordinate Marketing Department efforts on new-program rollouts. · Review and approve all curriculum-related promotional materials for accuracy. · Provide ongoing support for programs (e.g., communicate new textbook editions, coordinate system wide changes required to maintain certifications. · Coordinate a standardized textbook list for all programs with all Schools. · Ensure that all surveys from students, graduates and advisory boards are integrated into curriculum development, review and support processes.
· PhD. degree · 10 -15 years of directly related experience in instructional design, media and adult learning theory. · Proven leadership, strategic partnering and change agent skills. · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence the organization effectively. · Proven negotiating and influencing skills. Able to gain acceptance from others on a plan or idea and to achieve a mutually beneficial outcome. · Collaborative working style with ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment. · Entrepreneurial mindset. · Establish strong rapport and credibility with both K · Develop a deep understanding of the programs, services, and businesses that make up · Manage a process of innovation while insuring that all program directors and managers meet or exceed pedagogical standards, best practices in program delivery and best possible student outcomes.
